30 degree weather expected into August

Turn up the air conditioner!

If you like 30 degree weather, you should enjoy the next couple of weeks as temperatures will be at or above that for most of the time if the forecast holds true.

On Monday afternoon, heat warnings were issued by Environment Canada for western and northern portions of Saskatchewan.

With the exception of Friday when there is a brief cool-off, Environment Canada says expect the daytime high or to be in the 30’s or the high 20’s across most of Saskatchewan.

We experienced weather like this last week, but Environment Canada’s Natalie Hasell says the humidity should not be as high this time.

“If you look at tomorrow’s forecast, the high is 30, but the humidex is only 32 which is different from last week.” Hasell said. “It will be that way until at least Thursday when a slight cool-off happens which will bring some showers and thundershowers.  As for the temperature though, it should stay close to or above 30 degrees stretching into the first week of August.”

While Thursday could bring some rain, Hasell isn’t expecting much precipitation over the next couple of weeks as dry air will hover above us.
