Regina pair charged after stealing vehicle, evading police

A man and a woman from Regina are facing charges after stealing a vehicle and evading police early Saturday morning.

Officers observed a stolen vehicle at 2:00 a.m. on August 1 on the 1400 block of Cameron Street after the vehicle was stolen from a business compound. When police attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle quickly fled the area.

Police located the vehicle later on and successfully deployed a tire deflation system near Victoria Avenue and Ottawa Street. The suspects fled the vehicle but were detained by police shortly after.

50-year-old Ronald Sauer of Regina is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, resisting arrest, flight from a peace officer, break, enter and commit theft, drive while prohibited and failure to comply with a probation order. He will make his first court appearance on August 4 at 9:30a.m.

41-year-old Audra Kahnapace of Regina is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. Kahnapace is scheduled to appear in court on September 10 at 9:30a.m.
