Davidson fire claims business on Saturday

The volunteer fire department in Davidson had to battle a blaze within the town on Saturday that claimed an automotive repair shop.

Crews were called to the scene at about 2:00 AM Saturday morning at the corner of Washington and Railway Streets.

Additional crews from Craik were called to help fight the blaze. At one point, five lines of water were being used to suppress the flames.

Both fire departments were able to fight the fire until it was put out by 1:00 PM that afternoon.

A cause for the fire is not known at this time. A fire investigator was on the scene Saturday, but will be returning to help determine a cause.
