Sask Parks hosting drive-in movies throughout the province

Camping is a great way to get back to nature with the fresh air, scenic views, and the odd wildlife encounter, but this summer it’s also a chance through Sask Parks to catch a drive-in movie.

Spokesperson Deanna Jacobs says last year they had movies in the park, but because of safety precautions around COVID-19, this year they are offering drive-in experiences. This way, physical distancing remains in play.

The movies are free with a park pass. The first one was held last Friday at Moose Mountain Provincial Park. Two more are coming up at Blackstrap and the final one at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park.

Jacobs says the movies are a safe way to still be able to offer programming in the parks.
She notes the pandemic hasn’t kept people from enjoying the parks, which are busy.
All safety guidelines with the pandemic are being followed at the parks, and they are open until the end of September.
