Regina police are seeking information regarding a firearms offence investigation that resulted in a 24-year-old man being hospitalized on Monday.
Officers were sent at 9:48 a.m. to the 3400 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of a weapons offence involving a firearm. Police found a 24-year-old victim in an apparent shooting. He was transported to hospital by EMS as police continued their investigation.
The ongoing investigation led police to obtain a search warrant for a residence on the 1400 block of Elphinstone Street where several items were seized including firearms and ammunition.
A number of residents were charged including the victim of the apparent shooting who has also been charged with weapon possession and related offences.
33-year-old Ryan Leslie Creeley of Regina has been charged with attempted murder.
20-year-old Matthew Lerat-Polson of Regina has been charged with attempted murder and breach of probation.
18-year-old Lakota Lewis Anderson of Regina has been charged with possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a scheduled substance.
24-year-old Kashtin Reuben Gabriel Thorne of Regina has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, breach of probation and breach of an undertaking.
Creeley and Lerat-Polson made their first court appearances on Tuesday. Thorne will be in court on August 7, while Anderson makes a first court appearance on September 15.
RPS is now asking members of the public to make contact if they have information that could assist in this investigation. The incident occurred in a residential neighbourhood at mid-morning and police say the potential for harm to innocent bystanders is of great concern
