Virden RCMP confirmed that two people are dead after a tornado touched down near Virden, Manitoba Friday evening.
Police responded to a farm that suffered extensive damage and noticed that two vehicles had been carried away and thrown by the storm.

In the first vehicle, police found a 54-year-old man from the Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, who was taken to hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police located a second vehicle more than a kilometre away, and after doing a ground search, officers discovered an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, who were pronounced dead on scene.
RCMP believe that the two were thrown from the vehicle.
The tornado touched down around 8:00 pm Friday after Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning.
