SaskTel is offering a new Wi-Fi service in Saskatchewan.
Optimum In-home Wi-Fi is now available in roughly 460 communities across the province as an additional service to a monthly SaskTel Wi-Fi plan.
Spokesperson Michelle Englot says it’s the next generation of Wi-Fi connectivity.
“It leverages the latest WiFi technology and allows customers to connect a number of smart-devices in their home and they can optimize those devices to have the best connectivity,” Englot said. “Basically like delivering whole-home coverage.”
Englot says the service became available as of Monday.
“They do have to contact SaskTel, and it is an add-on service, so they would need to contact us and have a tech install a new gateway.”
Optimum In-Home is an additional service that goes with a regular SaskTel internet service, and costs $10/month more, with additional access points available for $5/month.
