On August 13^th, at approximately 5:20 pm, Regina Police received a report of a weapons offence involving a firearm on the 1300 block of Argyle Street.

A near collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Argyle and 7^th Avenue led to one of the drivers to honk their horn to notify the other driver to stop. The other driver then pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the occupants of the vehicle that honked the horn.

Investigation by the RPS led to the seizure of the suspect vehicle. A search warrant was executed at a home on the 3800 block 20^th Avenue, where police located a firearm, ammunition, a large amount of cash, and evidence of drug trafficking.

30-year-old Mursal Abukar Hagi has been charged with pointing a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm with ammo, tampering with the serial number of a firearm, 2 counts of possessing a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a weapon, possession of proceeds obtained by crime, and failure to comply with a release order.

Hagi made his first appearance in court Monday morning.
