School-specific action plans for a return to school have now been sent to parents and guardians.

Parent information packages contain guidance on how to prepare for back to school, which is coming up in 12 days, as well as general background on the Safe Schools Plan. Also included is fact-sheets on COVID-19 testing options and processes for illness in school notification and information regarding changes to in-classroom learning.

Also available will be information on how people will be notified if a teacher or student tests positive for COVID-19 and outlines scenarios for potential single positive COVID-19 results, outbreak declarations at a school, and possible changes to education throughout the year dependent on COVID-19 test results.

The information packages have been distributed by the 27 school divisions on behalf of the ministry of education.
