Nominations being accepted for the Saskatchewan Order of Merit

Nominations for the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, the province’s highest honour, are now open.

The Saskatchewan Order of Merit was established in 1985 to help recognize excellence, achievement, and contributions to the cultural, social, and economic well-being of the province. Past recipients have come from all walks of life and have made contributions to arts, business and industry, agriculture, and volunteer service.

Nominees must either have lived, or currently live in Saskatchewan. Anyone can submit a nomination, but it must be for a single person, not an organization.

Posthumous nominations will be accepted within one year of that individual’s passing.

People awarded the Saskatchewan Order of Merit will be invested by the Lieutenant Governor at a ceremony next year.

The deadline for nominations is November 1st.

Nominations can be submitted completely online the Government of Saskatchewan’s website.
