After narrowly voting to get tougher when it comes to rules for body rub establishments in the city last month, Regina City Council will get together in a special meeting Wednesday afternoon to finalize rules and regulations.
That meeting will likely take a while though, as 19 delegations are set to speak on the issue.
The rules call for establishments to be licensed with a yearly fee of $1,200 dollars. As it stands now, the parlours could only operate in heavy and light industrial zones.
One councilor who pushed for licencing was Lori Bresciani, she says this will enable the workers to be there because they want to be and, not because they are being forced.
Mayor Michael Fougere said earlier in the year they are not licensing criminal activity, but rather improving public safety.
