Southern Sask. summer hotter and drier than average in 2020

Summer 2020 in southern Saskatchewan is being described as drier and warmer than normal.

Environment Canada senior climatologist David Phillips says summer rainfall was 75 percent of average in Regina.

He adds there were 16 days when the thermometer passed 30 degrees, two days more than usual.

He says September will be warmer than usual.

Phillips says the Saskatchewan summer of 2020 did not see the same heat as Manitoba nor the cool wet weather in Alberta.
