Two men are dead and another two in hospital after an accident on Highway 11 near Osler Thursday afternoon that left the northbound lane of the highway closed for a good portion of the evening.
RCMP say they were called to an area two kilometers south of the turnoff to Osler around 3:45. The call came after reports a few minutes earlier of a black truck driving through a ditch knocking over signs. When they arrived, they found that truck along with a tan truck and a black SUV that had been involved in a crash.
The 79-year-old driver of the black truck was pronounced dead at the scene, as was the 56-year-old man who was driving the SUV. The 70-year-old driver of the tan truck and a 22-year-old man who was a passenger in the SUV were taken to hospital, but their conditions are not known.
Police say an investigation into what caused the collision is ongoing.
