Ready to re-open; Conexus Arts Centre excited to have weekend concerts happening

It has been a long time since the Conexus Arts Centre had a concert in its facility.  That wait ends Friday night when Chantal Kreviazuk performs the first of two acoustic concerts.

CEO Neil Donnelly says this is a weekend that they have been waiting for.

“We’re excited to finally to start doing something again.” Donnelly said. ” It’s certainly not at the same size or fashion that we’re used to, but we’re just happy to get some people back to work and get people back inside the centre.

Donnelly says the aim is to have those going to have a contactless experience as tickets are on mobile phones that will be scanned,  there will be temperature scanning at the door and food and beverage can be ordered via text.   People are being advised to bring masks, but ones will be made available.

While this won’t generate a lot of revenue, Donnelly says any amount of revenue generated is welcome.

“Just being back in business and doing some events and having some people back at work is the most important thing for us right now.” Donnelly said. “We want to do more, but we will proceed cautiously and see how things go.  We are going to try and do more, but we need to see how this weekend goes  and then proceed from there.
