14 new cases of COVID-19 are being reported by the province on Saturday.
The new cases are located in the East Central (4), Saskatoon (3), , Regina (2), South Central (2), South East (2) and South West zones.
The province adds there are currently 19 active reported cases in Yorkton and that contact investigations have linked most cases to known clusters within the community. Testing and contact investigations continue and it is anticipated there will be more positive test results in the days to come.
There are 13 recoveries putting the provincial total at 1,782 and the active case count at 148.
One person is in hospital receiving care in an ICU in the Central East zone.
2,819 tests were done in the province on Friday meaning over 198,000 tests have been conducted since March.
Meanwhile, the Saskatchewan Health Authority says possible exposure may have occurred at businesses in Yorkton, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Pelly, Fort Qu’Appelle, Regina, Balgonie and Norquay.
The province is also urging caution as we get closer to Thanksgiving when it comes to family gatherings, large meals and planning.
“As we approach Thanksgiving weekend and look forward to connecting with loved ones, we all have a responsibility to keep our family, friends and community safe by being mindful of our social gathering plans,” provincial chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab said in the release that contained the daily numbers.
People are being told to keep in-home gatherings to immediate family members and those already in their extended household bubble. It is also being emphasized that while private gatherings can have up to 30 people, a gathering of that size can only be allowed if there is proper physical distancing between extended households.
