October is Agriculture month in Saskatchewan, and is an excellent time to connect those who grow food with consumers.
The executive director of Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan, Clinton Monchuk, says one of the goals is to generate authentic conversations between urban residents and farmers.
“We’ve had quite a few more inquiries that have come in to Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan, just asking for information about certain aspects of grain farming or livestock farming,” said Monchuk. “I think it’s great that consumers are taking that initiative to start asking questions.”
Monchuk says more and more consumers are reaching out to farmers to find out where their food comes from.
He encourages farmers and ranchers to take the opportunity to discuss food production with consumers.
