Residents in southern Saskatchewan will want to prepare for some snowy weather before the start of the weekend.
Environment Canada has placed a special weather statement for communities in west central, south central, southwest and southeast Saskatchewan, including Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Weyburn and Estevan.
A low pressure system will track across southwestern Saskatchewan on Friday, which will bring accumulating snow to areas south of a line from roughly Kindersley to Oxbow. Snow will move into western regions in the morning, central areas in the afternoon and eastern areas in the evening on Friday.
Some areas may see precipitation initially be mixed with rain, but for the most part it will fall as snow with five to ten centimeters expected in some areas. The southwest corner of the province can expect more of a rain/snow mixture.
The special weather statement is in effect for Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Kindersley, Estevan, Oxbow and other communities in the south of the province. (Environment Canada)
