Regina Police say an investigation involving a high-risk traffic stop that involved a spike belt deployment and a break and enter investigation has led to the arrest of three Regina men.
Officers say late Wednesday afternoon patrol was asked to assist a plainclothes team in a traffic stop involving a white GMC truck. One man inside the vehicle was believed to be wanted for break and enter and breach of probation.
The patrol members attempted to stop the truck at Victoria Avenue and Scarth Street but the vehicle stopped but only long enough to eject the driver before speeding away, eastbound on Victoria Avenue. The first driver was arrested for evading police.
Meanwhile, plainclothes units kept the truck under surveillance until a spike belt could be deployed. The vehicle carried on after the spike belt deployment and was involved in a property-damage collision in the area of 4th Avenue and Wallace Street. A woman was taken into custody at this point (but later released without criminal charges) and the other occupants of the truck fled on foot. A canine team started a track, which led to officers setting up a perimeter on a building in the 900 block of Winnipeg Street. Officers obtained permission to search the residence and located two men, who were taken into custody without further incident.
As a result 52-year-old Floyd Anderson has been charged with flight from a peace officer and breach of probation. Thirty-one-year-old Daniel Joseph Moar was arrested on outstanding warrants and also charged with break and enter. Lastly 29-year-old Theoren Wendell Pasqua was charged with break and enter.
Pasqua and Moar made their first court appearances Thursday afternoon, while Anderson was released on an undertaking and will be in court November 26th.
