27-year-old Regina man arrested after police shot at in Al Ritchie neighbourhood

Regina Police have updated the public on a taser deployment case that took place last week.

On Oct. 23, police were notified of a robbery that took place east of the city that involved a firearm. A vehicle was stolen in the incident. Police were able to find the stolen vehicle in the Al Ritchie neighbourhood.

During this observation, the suspect shot at an unmarked police vehicle while both vehicles were moving. No one was injured in the incident. Police were able to continue observing the suspect vehicle until a spike belt could be safely deployed.

The vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Broad Street and Victoria Avenue. The suspect was apprehended, but taken to hospital with minor injuries. A taser was deployed but it was ineffective. The suspect was wanted on outstanding warrants.

The name of the suspect is not known at this time. Charges are still pending.
