Police investigating possible cougar sighting in Moose Jaw

Moose Jaw Police are warning citizens of an unconfirmed cougar sighting.

Police were informed of the situation at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday morning. The sighting was said to be in the area of Sunningdale Park/Rotary Cove Trail located east of Sunningdale School.

Officers visited the area but have yet to locate the wild animal at this time.

The Moose Jaw Police Service is working with conservation officers and will be monitoring the area for any possible sightings.

The public has been directed to not approach the area. If anyone encounters the cougar, officials say to not approach the animal and contact police immediately.
