Four people arrested near Maple Creek after using drugs in a vehicle

On Wednesday morning, at around 10:15 am, Maple Creek RCMP responded to a complaint of drugs being used in a vehicle.

Officers located and stopped the described vehicle without incident on Highway 1 near the Highway 21 junction. They observed evidence of drug use in the vehicle and arrested the four occupants.

The Swift Current RCMP’s K-9 Unit attended the scene to help with the search of the vehicle.

During the search, officers located and seized $50,000 in Canadian Currency, seven cell phone, large quantities of unused bags of various sizes, smaller quantities of what is believed to be meth, scales, notebooks, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The four occupants of the vehicle, 43-year-old Arnold Enriquez, 32-year-old Shelia Corpuz, 26-year-old Bench Pableo, and a 16-year-old youth have been charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of property obtained by crime.

Enriquez has been additionally charged with breach of conditions.

The four suspects made their first appearance in court this morning, with another appearance scheduled for this afternoon

All four suspects are currently in police custody.
