Regina Police warn public of high-risk sex offender re-entering the Heritage Neighbourhood

Regina Police is issuing a public advisory about a man previously convicted with sex offences who is re-entering the public and is considered a high risk to re-offend.

Steven Ewanchuk is described as a 71-year-old man, about 6’0″ tall and about 200 pounds with green eyes and brown hair. Ewanchuk, who will be living in the Heritage neighbourhood under surveillance, has been convicted of eight sexual offences and four non-compliance with court-ordered conditions.

Ewanchuk has completed programming to address these risks to re-offend, but a psychologist says he has not made progress on reducing these risks.

Ewanchuk is under a long term supervision order until February, 2028.He is not to be near schools or recreation centres and he is also to report any relationship or friendship he creates with women with a Parole Supervisor.

Police remind the public this advisory is not to spike fear or to create unreasonable actions towards the offender, but rather for people to take their own necessary precautions.
