Man charged after home invasion on Robinson Street

Regina Police say a 24-year-old man is facing numerous charges after a home invasion on the 1100 block of Robinson Street on Tuesday.

Early information suggested a man had walked into the home demanding drugs and when he was told there were none, and that he was in the wrong home, he discharged bear spray and fled the residence. When police arrived, the victim indicated that she had seen the suspect run into a nearby residence.

While police searched the area, they learned of a potential second victim from another location in the area. A short time later, officers observed two men in the front window of a home on the 1100 block of Robinson Street, one appeared to match the suspect description given from the first residence.

The two men were taken into police custody, one was later released without charges.

As a result 24-year-old Matthew Thompson has been charged with break and enter and breach of condition of release order.

Thompson was in court Wednesday morning.

Police say none of the victims required medical treatment.
