Saskatchewan’s unemployment rate dropped once again in October according to Statistics Canada, as it now sits at 6.4%.
That is well below the national unemployment rate (8.9%) and is the lowest in Canada for a third straight month.
October’s unemployment rate is .4 percentage points lower than September’s numbers (6.8%).
In a news release, Immigration and Trade Minister Jeremy Harrison says despite COVID-19, Saskatchewan people are getting back to work and the economy is in recovery.
Other numbers across Western Canada are showing higher unemployment rates, including Manitoba (7.1%), British Columbia (8.0%), and Alberta (10.1%).
