Sask. RCMP launching new multicultural program for newcomer youth

The Saskatchewan RCMP has launched an online youth multicultural program to build relationships between newcomer youth and the RCMP.

Laili Yazdani with the RCMP says it’s an opportunity for youth to learn about the RCMP and crime prevention.

“It is important to welcome newcomer youth to Canada and build relationships, so they feel comfortable approaching us when they need help,” said Yazdani.

Yazdani said they are planning to include translation services and deliver sessions in languages other than English and French to meet the needs of participants.

People can sign up for the program through the RCMP’s questionnaire.
