SRA says Open House showings paused until 2021 in Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan REALTORS Association is suspending all open houses organized the SRA until 2021 because of the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases.

In a news release the SRA says it takes the safety of Saskatchewan people seriously, and that they continue to take the lead to minimize the risk of transmission with the goal of keeping real estate an essential service.

“We were the first province to pause open houses in March before the government placed the province on lockdown,” said SRA CEO Jason Yochim in a release. “We expected all members across the province to wear masks when meeting with clients before the government’s mask mandate was expanded beyond Prince Albert, Regina, and Saskatoon. And effective immediately, we are placing a pause on open houses to do our part to prevent the further spread of COVID.”

SRA members have access to COVID-19 Buyer Clients waivers to aid in contact tracing and screening for the virus, touch points are minimized by allowing only the REALTOR® to touch surfaces in a property, virtual showings via Facebook and Instagram are utilized along with 3D tours wherever possible, sanitization is required and members have been asked to limit the number of visitors to a home, should a showing be required, to two people.
