Regina man facing drug charges after attempted traffic stop

On Friday night, around 9:35 pm, Regina Police attempted a traffic stop on the 1100 block of King Street. The vehicle did not stop, evading police.

The vehicle was located later on the 1400 block of King Street and the driver was walking away. When approached by police, the driver fled on foot but was apprehended and placed under arrest. The man had a firearm, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a stolen license plate.

34-year-old Kyle Blondeau has been charged with flight from a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Blondeau is set to make his first court appearance Monday morning.
