Regina man charged after explosive/incendiary devices found downtown on Saturday

A 31-year-old Regina man is facing several charges after improvised incendiary devices that were found to be explosive were discovered in front of a downtown business Saturday afternoon.

Police were flagged down by four people on 11th Avenue and Rose Street after they found a suspicious package in front of a downtown business shortly before 4:00 p.m.

A red bag containing four fluid-filled containers, with what appeared to be a wick tied to each was given to officers.

After investigating it was determined that the items found were explosive.

A search of the area was conducted and no other suspicious items were found.

Security footage at the business shows the suspect leaving the bag in front of the business when he sees a police car arrive for an unrelated manner.

Thirty-one-year-old Lyndon Chamberlin was arrested and is facing five charges, including Making or Possessing an Explosive Substance, Unlawful Possession of Explosives and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace.

Chamberlin made his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
