COVID-19 dominated debate in the Saskatchewan legislature Monday.
Opposition leader Ryan Meili says the SaskParty response to the pandemic has been a disaster, particularly with senior citizen complexes like Parkside Extendicare in Regina.
He said over 150 residents and staff have tested positive, with nine deaths amongst residents in total.
Meili claimed residents are dying alone, in their rooms.
Seniors and Rural Health Minister Everett Hindley said the province is in fact is extremely concerned about the outbreak, and is taking steps to stop the spread.
Hindley said extensive support is being provided to Parkside through the Saskatchewan Health Authority with a full review of infection protocols taking place along with a PPE review.
Daily staff testing is also being completed.
Hindley also said 25 Parkside residents have been temporarily moved to Pioneer Village and are being isolated.
On Monday 274 new cases of COVID-19 were announced across Saskatchewan, along with another death.
