Regina police find drugs, firearms during stolen vehicle investigation

A Regina police investigation into a stolen vehicle incident has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of drugs and guns.

On Monday morning at around 3:20 a.m., police noticed a stolen 2004 Dodge Dakota driving throughout Regina. Regina police determined that the truck was stolen from the area of 5th Avenue and Edgar Street on December 11.

Two men were seen abandoning the truck in the city’s downtown area. Police and members of the canine team apprehended the individuals not too far from the truck and were arrested without incident. Officers found a knife on one of the suspects, while drugs and cash were discovered in the driver’s possession.

During a search of the vehicle, investigators located a duffel bag which contained a sawed-off shotgun and an imitation shotgun.

38-year-old Jeffrey Kyle Babcock and 31-year-old Craig Jordan Machiskinic of Regina were both charged and make their first court appearances on Monday afternoon.
