Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 death toll is up to 91 after two more residents who tested positive for the virus passed away.
The provincial government shared in their COVID-19 update on Monday that the individuals were from the Saskatoon and North West zones and in the 80+ age group.
There are 269 new cases, 73 recoveries and 4,380 active cases as of Monday in Saskatchewan.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (8), Far North Central (3), Far North East (14), North West (30), North Central (50), North East (17), Saskatoon (51), Central West (2), Central East (16), Regina (59), South West (1), South Central (5) and South East (6) zones and seven new cases have pending residence information.
124 people are in hospital. 97 patients receiving inpatient care with eight in the North West, 11 in the North Central, 41 in Saskatoon, two in the Central East, 30 in Regina, one in the South Central and four in the South East zones. 27 people are in intensive care with six in the North Central, nine in Saskatoon, eleven in Regina, and one in the South West.
The seven-day average of daily new cases is 262 (21.7 new cases per 100,000 population). A total of 7,767 individuals have recovered.
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab will be providing a COVID-19 update at 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.
