Regina Police and RCMP have several in custody after urban and rural areas searched for firearms manufacturing

Regina Police say the Integrated Crime Reduction Team, which includes officers in the city as well as RCMP, executed a number of searches in Regina and outside the city on Thursday in relation to an investigation into manufacturing firearms.

Searches were conducted in Fillmore, Lebret, the RM of Lajord, as well as on Fines Drive in Regina, the 2100 block of Rae Street, 1100 block of Elliott Street, 1500 block of Bond Street, 1100 block of Rose Street and 1600 block of St. John Street.

Police say several people were taken into custody but provided no other details at this time.

In a news release RPS said more details would be made available at the conclusion of the investigation.
