Shaq is back; Riders sign Evans to one-year extension

The day before Christmas sees the Riders hand out one last Christmas present to Rider Nation.

The team announced Wednesday morning Shaq Evans has signed a one-year contract extension meaning he will not go to free agency February 9.

Evans blossomed into one of the CFL’s top pass-catchers in 2019 as he hauled in 72 passes for 1,334 yards and five touchdowns in his sophomore season with the club.

This signing adds to the core group that has been re-signed by the club over the last few days as Evans joins Dan Clark, Brendon LaBatte, Nick Marshall, William Powell and Mike Edem as key players who will be returning to the green-and-white for the 2021 season.
