There has been a Christmas Eve tragedy in the town of Gravelbourg.

A resident of the town died after a house fire on December 24.

The Gravelbourg fire department says they were called to the home on First Avenue West just before 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, one side of the building was fully engulfed in flames.  A search of the home while fighting the blaze found the person who was rushed to hospital but died shortly after.  Two pets also died.

RCMP say the fire was not deemed to be suspicious.
