It’s been a strange year for the University of Regina.
The U of R has only allowed certain labs and workshops to take place in-person. Despite everything going virtual, the U of R saw an increase in enrolment this year.
Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Thomas Chase says all things considered with the COVID- 19 pandemic, the U of R is doing well.
“The faculty, the staff, the students, alumni, all the members of the university community, and in deed the wider community, have made just tremendous contributions to ensuring that teaching, and research, and community service continues to be done.” said Chase. ”
The U of R has lost 13-and-a-half million dollars by not having students in the building. While that has been covered by savings, Chase says that’s only a short-term solution.
