A 37-year-old Estevan man faces several charges including armed robbery and careless use of a firearm after an incident early Wednesday morning,

Just after midnight, Regina Police were called to a business on the 700 block of Victoria Avenue after a caller said she had spotted a car stolen from her three days earlier.

The caller also told police the suspect may have access to a firearm inside the vehicle. Several officers converged on the business and found the suspect inside where he was arrested without incident.

A search of the vehicle found two firearms, ammunition, drugs, cellphones and cash. An investigation determined the suspect was also on several court-ordered conditions including a firearms prohibition.

Gregory Powell made his first court appearance on the matter today (Wednesday).
