Those applying for CRA’s sickness benefit will now have to state of they’ve travelled internationally or not

After recent uproar, the Canada Revenue Agency says before people can receive the two week Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit, they will need to say if they are in quarantine from travelling outside of the country.

The CRA says the Sickness Benefit was intended to help frontline workers and others who may have been exposed to COVID-19 but whose employers do not offer paid sick leave.

International travel is not illegal at this point in time, but is highly discouraged.
