City ready for expected nasty weather

Regina is expected to see road conditions be treacherous as a mix of freezing rain and snow along with severe winds are expected beginning Wednesday morning.   Those conditions are expected to make Regina roads very slippery.  The city says its primary focus as it is with any winter event will be to provide ice control on busy roads and intersections while monitoring roads that are prone to blowing snow.

During a snow and freezing rain event, ice control helps provide traction to improve driving conditions. Sander trucks will continuously monitor and apply sand/salt to the Category 1-4 road network which includes major roadways, hospital and transit routes, commercial areas and areas near schools, as needed.

Residents are encouraged to take extra caution when driving and to slow down to stay safe.

During a significant ice event, City services may be delayed. Recycling/garbage may be picked up later in the day and transit users should check Transit Live for any changes.
