Saskatchewan-born Kamloops Blazers forward paralyzed in snowboarding accident

Kamloops Blazers forward Kyrell Sopotyk has been paralyzed in a snowboarding accident over the weekend.

The 19-year-old Aberdeen, Saskatchewan product was drafted by the Blazers in 2016.

The WHL also released a statement saying they are deeply saddened by the news.

A go-fund-me page has been started for the Sopotyk family to help pay for future renovations to accommodate for Kyrell’s injuries.

As of late Monday mornign the page had already raised more than $84,000, well ahead of the $50,000 goal listed on the page.
