Man arrested after shooting in Regina’s North Central

A Regina man is facing charges after a shooting Wednesday night.

At around 8:45 pm, police responded to the hospital for a report of a man had been shot. Early information suggested the man had arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated immediately by hospital, and his injuries are being described as non-life threatening.

As a result of the investigation, officers attended to a house on the 1400 block of Cameron Street, just off Dewdney Avenue, where the shooting was believed to have taken place. Police located a firearm and ammunition at the residence.

The arrested suspect appears to have been the victim of an assault, currently under investigation.

34-year-old Julian Runns has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, and 6 counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

Runns will make his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
