The Regina Downtown Business Improvement District has opened submissions for its Urban Canvas public art program.
Program coordinator Janell Rempel says six pieces of artwork will be chosen and installed as vinyl wraps on five traffic control boxes along with one large mural.
Artists who plan to submit their artwork for the mural will need to incorporate the themes of either reconciliation or mental health.
“We really want to continue to amplify BIPOC voices in our program, and just celebrate the diversity that is in the downtown neighborhood,” said Rempel. “That’s really a key part of this program.”
Exact locations and dimensions will be confirmed with selected artists, while three more traffic control boxes will feature heritage photos.
• artist bio and contact information;
• proposed design description(s) and design sketch(es) (max. 3); and
• three images of past work.
