Shumiatcher, who received the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in 2001 and the Order of Canada in 2017, donated over 1,300 pieces of art to the University of Regina.  The U of R along with the MacKenzie art gallery and the Regina Symphony Orchestra were benefactors of Shumiatcher and her late husband Morris, as they received many financial donations over the years.

The university has a theatre named after the Shumiatchers: Shumiatcher Open Stage, also known as the Shu-Box.

The Conexus Arts Centre also features the Jacqui Shumiatcher Room where the RSO performs many concerts.
