Regina woman arrested at courthouse after stealing taxi in north central

Police in Regina have charged a woman in connection to a stolen taxi that took place early Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area of 3rd Ave. and Angus Street, where a taxicab driver had his vehicle stolen, with the taxi last seen driving southbound on Rae Street. Further investigation indicated that the suspect also attempted to sell stolen goods while in the vehicle.

Police were able to locate the stolen vehicle and successfully used a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle on the 200 block of Victoria Avenue.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, walking into the court house where she was arrested. The vehicle was seized, as well as stolen goods inside the vehicle unrelated to the incident.

30-year-old Tayna Horsefall faces five charges:

· Robbery

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

· Operation of a conveyance while prohibited

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

· Trafficking in property obtained by crime under $5000.

Horsefall appeared in court Wednesday morning.
