Regina Police have charged a 12-year-old boy with uttering threats after a social media post that threatened a student at a school in the Al Ritchie area.
In a release, police say a school resource officer received a call from the school’s principal about the threat. Officers were sent to the school, but it was determined the victim was not in imminent danger and the suspect was not at the school. The investigation resulted in police discovering the threat had been made via social media and showed the suspect holding what appeared to be a firearm.
The suspect was found and he was arrested without incident. A search of his home did not yield any firearms.
The suspect and victim do know one another.
The boy, who can’t be identified due to his age, makes an appearance in court Monday.
