The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Regina product Jon Ryan.
The punter joined the Riders after a 12-year stint in the NFL, becoming the first player from Saskatchewan to win the Super Bowl in 2014 with the Seattle Seahawks.
Before heading to the NFL, Ryan played with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2004 and 2005, and was named an all-star in ’05 with an average punt of 50.6 yards.
Ryan played all 18 regular season games in 2019, averaging 48.8 yards per punt. His longest punt was 77 yards, and put nine punts inside of the 10-yard-line. He was also named a West Division All-Star.
