Habitat for Humanity branches in Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert have all merged together to create one provincial branch.
Volunteer Board Chair Bruce Anderson says the merger will make a bigger difference in the communities they serve.
“Things like increased partnerships, stronger relationships with suppliers, were things that led to the merger,” said Anderson.
Despite four administrative positions in Saskatoon not coming back, Anderson says this merger could also lead to an increase in employment across the province.
To kick start the merger, Conexus Credit Union donated one million dollars to Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan to build 80 new homes over the next four years.
The organization is already set to complete 21 homes in 2021 across the province.
