Saskatchewan feeder cattle prices were mostly moving up for the week ending February 12th.
The latest figures from the Saskatchewan ministry of Agriculture show feeder steer prices saw the largest price increase in 500 to 600 pound category, increasing 8 dollars 93 cents per hundredweight to end the week at an average price of 231 dollars 83 cents per hundredweight.
The weekly average steer price was 213 dollars 57 cents.
Feeder heifers were mixed but mainly higher as well.
The largest price increase was in the 600 to 700 pound category, up 3 dollars 92 cents to end the week at an average price of 180 dollars 63 cents per hundredweight.
The average weekly heifer price was 181 dollars per hundredweight.
Acting provincial cattle specialist Natasha Wilkie says feeder cattle prices were moving up on lower inventory and rising cattle futures.
