Regina man charged after found unresponsive in stolen vehicle

On Wednesday morning, just after 11:00 am, Regina Police responded to a report of a person who was slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle in the area of 2nd Avenue North and Connaught Street.

When police arrived, they located the vehicle and an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was running, but placed in park, and officers could see a weapon inside the vehicle. The vehicle was also reported stolen.

Police opened the door and removed the man from the vehicle. The man woke up and he was placed under arrest and taken into custody. After searching the vehicle, police located a bladed weapon and a shot gun.

29-year-old Justin Pelletier has been charged with possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, 2 counts of possession of a firearm or ammo contrary to a prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, impaired operation of a conveyance, and 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Pelletier made his first court appearance on Thursday morning.
