Driver charged after single vehicle accident in downtown Regina Thursday night

Regina Police say a driver was not injured Thursday night in a single vehicle accident on Saskatchewan Drive near the Albert Street intersection.

Officers say emergency crews and SaskPower were called shortly before 9:00 p.m. because the driver’s vehicle had hit a power pole in the area.

The driver, who’s name was not released, was charged under the Traffic Safety Act, for driving without due care and attention.

That area of Saskatchewan Drive is open for traffic Friday morning, after being closed Thursday evening.

No word on if, or how many buildings may have lost power because of the accident.
