Canada’s Minister of Agriculture is asking consumers to raise a fork to farmers Tuesday, for Canada’s Agriculture Day.
Marie-Claude Bibeau wants Canadians to show appreciation for the hard work done by farmers to provide a safe and stable food supply.
Bibeau suggests consumers look to locally-grown food for their meals where possible.
Last year, Canadian agri-food and seafood exports increased over 10 percent to $74-billion.
